Julie has had pretty phenomenal success with all sorts of horses over the years; her first Grand Prix horse, Top Gun, being three-quarters thoroughbred and a quarter Welsh Mountain pony. Julie also bred and produced the 15.2hh Glenturret to Prix St George level, before he was purchased by the Goldsbury family for daughter, Amanda.
Julie’s first foray into Warmbloods came when she purchased several of the JK Holsteiners, the best of which was JK Super Sonic, who she produced to Grand Prix.
Second foray was purchasing several baby Gymnastik Star horses from Kinnordy Stud in Australia. Gymstar One was the first followed by Kinnordy Glogau and Kinnordy Gallium. These three horses all competed at grand prix with the riders who purchased them as horses on their way to FEI. Other horses Julie started include Kinnordy Golda, now with Maddy Schollum, and Kinnordy Galilee who has competed at Advanced Eventing with Christen Lane.
Vom Feinsten was purchased through Ton de Ridder at the Aachen Auction in 2008. Furst Fellini was purchased in 2012 from the stable of Leonie Bramall and Volker Dusche. Donna Hope is the daughter of Kinnordy Golda.
Julie’s past trainers include Clemens Dierks; Sharon and Kallista Field; Ben Conn; Hubertus Hufendiek; Leonie Bramall; Brett Parbery, and Jeremy Steinberg.
During 2016 when residing at Hof Rossheide, Ton and Alexandra de Ridder trained Julie and Steiny on a daily basis and Ton was Julie’s trainer at the Rio Olympics (in addition to Andrea Raves) where his experience proved invaluable.
